The 3rd Annual CLWF Tournament

Hello Everyone I would like to take this time and thank all the players, fans and volunteers who made the 3rd annual Chris Letendre Memorial Lacrosse Tournament a success, words can not describe how happy last weekend has made me.
The Teams who participated this year:
Saints, Warriors, C-Men, AB Indigenous, Okotoks, Lacrosstitutes, Red Deer and the Foundation. Each team played 5 games in three days, I give all the players credit, that is a lot of work but as we all know it is worth it when it comes to something you love doing or playing.
I would also like to congratulate the Warriors who are back to back Champs. The final game between the Foundation & Warriors was a fast paced game.
The Bronze goes to the C-Man who were victorious over our friends from the South Okotoks.
They say it takes a village well with the volunteers that showed up this weekend it was a CITY, from Score Clock, Raffle & Swag tables, 50/50, Beer Gardens and most importantly Popcorn THANK YOU very much from my heart I can say I could not have done any of this without you all.
I would also like to Thank Dennis Dies for the Jerseys, Hoodies and Team Shirts. Without you vision those things wouldn’t have been a reality.
The most joy I feel all weekend comes from the players, seeing all the players playing with the biggest smile on there face and knowing that for that short time they have no cares, worries or problems but then when the horn sounds it’s back to reality for everyone. Oh how I wish I could take away the pain and sorrow that people are feeling these days but I can’t all I can do is listen and to help by giving you resources or help you find the help you need.
I appreciate everyone comes and plays whether you have 20 years playing or 2 months playing seeing everyone out enjoying themselves and having fun to help with your own mental health or demons you are fighting this is one of the reasons we have this tournament.
I have had some people over the past couple weeks ask me why do I volunteer so much or why do I do so much regarding this tournament and the answer is simple, This is what Chris would have wanted for the game that he loved, people with all levels of experience, nationality, gender coming together like a family and playing Lacrosse, no Drama or BS everyone getting along.
For some of the lacrosse community/family being on the floor with a lacrosse stick in there hand is there safe place or there sanctuary, the players who come out to show support are also the same people who need some support, and that is a reminder that we are never alone when it comes to the lacrosse community.
